SPECIAL WEAPONS AND TACTICS TEAM

The Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team is responsible for critical incident response, serving high-risk warrants, and providing tactical and security support to Jail and Court Operations. Our team is comprised of specially trained members whose mission is the preservation of life and to ensure public safety and security, while safeguarding property. 

Selection, training, and equipping the team for contemporary and emerging response remains a constant focus. Requirements for assignment and remaining an active team member are stringent and continue to evolve, from physical and mental acumen, to technical and decision-making expertise. To meet our mission and develop our team members to be leading experts in their field, we are increasing training, implementing best practices, identifying and acquiring state-of-the-art equipment and increasing size and capabilities. 

An important component of our success is the continuing and improving of partnerships with local agencies. From team members for city departments to Tactical Medic Support from the Henry County Fire Department, our team will continue to grow and strive for excellence for our community.
