TRAINING UNIT

OUR PURPOSE

The Henry County Sheriff's Office Training Unit is comprised of highly trained instructors that play an integral part in our agency's development of our staff. The Training Unit is responsible for conducting, maintaining, and coordinating initial and continual training for all personnel.  Our goal is to exceed the standards set by the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council.

In a continuing effort to improve the skills of our employees, the unit offers a variety of training topics which include ethics, de-escalation techniques, defensive tactics, crisis intervention, firearms, and first aid/CPR.  In addition, the Training Unit coordinates with expert guest instructors who offer specialized training sessions to enhance the skills and knowledge of our staff.

Sheriff Scandrett has prioritized the citizens of Henry County by providing the highest qualified deputies and ensuring they receive continuous training to improve the professional standards of the Henry County Sheriff's Office.
